  31. Welcome to BigFocus 13/Win, Diamond's acceleration driver for
  32. AutoCAD 13 for Windows 95 and Windows NT! This software is simple to use and 
  33. offers a number of attractive features:

  35. - performance boost up to factor 10 over the standard AutoCAD display

  58. 1.2 System Requirements

  62. The BigFocus 13/Win driver only works with Diamond professional 
  63. series graphics accelerators.

  65. (b) Windows
  66. The current version of this software is for Windows 95 and Windows 
  67. NT 3.5/4.0 only.

  73. a) Installation from CD ROM

  76.   1. Run the program "START" from the CD ROM

  80.   3. Follow the instructions on the screen. The installation routine will
  81.      decompress and copy various files onto your hard disk.

  89.      Reconfiguring AutoCAD for Windows to use BigFocus 13/Win:
  90.      Start ACADWIN, Select "Options", "Configure", and when selecting the

  97. 3   Troubleshooting and Bugfix
  98. ===============================

  100. Problem:
  101. During the AutoCAD configuration the option 'Diamond BigFocus - Accelerated 
  102. Display Driver...' doesn't appear, the Toolbar doesn't appear.
  103.  
  104. Solution:
  105. Check your ACAD.INI file. It must contain the following section (example):

  111. ACADDRV=c:\acadr13\win\drv;C:\ACADR13\WIN;C:\dsmedia\bigfocus

  114. where the DIAMOND path (C:\dsmedia\bigfocus in this example) should correspond to 
  115. the target directory you entered during the software installation. Change or 
  116. add the entry if necessary.

  126. - New HW accelerated redraw on FireGL x000.
  127.   This gives an additional 2x boost in graphics performance.

  133. Most registry entries are changed by the BigFocus configuration dialog or at runtime
  134. by BigFocus itself.

  141.   REG_DWORD - 0x1 switch on HW acceleration

  145.   REG_DWORD - 0x1 redraw occurs only in "dirty" areas on the screen
  146.                   this saves lot of time when working with large drawings
  147.               0x0 total screen redraw (normal behaviour of display driver)

  149. - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Diamond\BigFocus\HWClipRects
  150.   REG_DWORD - this gives the maximum number of windows overlapping the drawing area
  151.               for HW accelerated redraw.
  152.               A trade-off has to be made - above a certain number of overlapping windows
  153.               non HW accelerated redraws appear to be faster. The driver dynamically chooses
  154.               non HW accelerated redraw if the number of overlapping windows (toolbars,
  155.               BirdEye,...) is greater than HWClipRects. Default value is 1.
